We are looking for a passionate Akuapem Twi teacher to join our language programme. / Yɛrehwehwɛ obi a ɔwɔ ɔdɔ ma Akuapem Twi a obetumi aboa yɛn asuafoɔ.
About the role
The Akuapem Twi Teacher will design and deliver lessons in Akuapem Twi for learners of varying ages and levels. The role includes preparing lesson materials, assessing learners, and supporting cultural activities that promote Twi language use.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Akuapem Twi lessons (spoken and written).
- Create and adapt teaching materials for beginner to intermediate learners.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Promote Akan culture and Akuapem dialect awareness in class activities.
- Work with coordinators to align the curriculum with programme goals.
Qualifications & profile
- Degree or diploma in Akan/Twi, Education, Linguistics, or related field — or equivalent teaching experience.
- Native or near-native fluency in Akuapem (Akwapim) Twi.
- Experience teaching language learners (classroom or online) — 1–2 years preferred.
- Good command of lesson planning, assessment, and student-centred methods.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working with diverse age groups.
Personal qualities
- Patient and encouraging teacher with strong communication skills.
- Culturally sensitive and able to represent Akan customs appropriately.
- Organised, creative, and ready to contribute to curriculum development.
